Box 2112

At 0714 hours, the Chester County Fireboard called Rescue 21, which had just returned from an MVC at Mt. Pleasant and Waterway Roads, and advised them of another MVC in the 500 block of Little Elk Creek Road in East Nottingham Township. Rescue 21 (Captain Prettyman) made the response immediately with a crew of five. Within seconds, the incident was re-alerted adding Medic 94 (SCCEMS) with calls now reporting a subject trapped in a car.

While responding, units had to navigate through another MVC at Route 472 and Glendale Road. This MVC was handled by Cecil County Ambulance 892 (Rising Sun, MD) and Ambulance 22-3 (West Grove).

Rescue 21 arrived to find one vehicle versus a utility pole with one subject trapped in the front seat. Captain Prettyman then established the "Lil' Elk Creek Command".

The rescue crew stabilized the vehicle and removed the driver's door with the Hurst Spreaders.

The additional arriving units assisted with removing the patient, hazard control and traffic control.

The patient was extricated, loaded into Ambulance 21-2 and transported to the Jennersville Regional Hospital.

The final units were clear of the incident at 0747 hours.
