| The Union Fire Company No. 1 held a Triple Housing Ceremony to honor three new pieces of apparatus that were purchased over the past year. A beautiful September evening greeted the crowd that gathered on the front apron of the Firehouse as Ambulance 21-2, Brush 21 and Engine 21-2 were baptized into the company.
The ceremony began at 5pm as members of the company addressed the crowd with the history of the apparatus and highlights of the new pieces. Representatives of some of our surrounding Municipalites were on hand, as well as our Housing Companies.
Each apparatus was "pushed" into the Firehouse the traditional three times, representing God, our Country and the Fire Service.
Following the ceremony, the company held a large pig roast and "after party" in the banquet hall. The party was open to everyone and the large crowd enjoyed lots of food and drink, as well as a mechanical bull and music for dancing.
The Union Fire Company No. 1 would like thank all those that attend our event and made it a success. We also like to thank the Bethel Township Fire Company, Longwood Fire Company and the Martins Corner Fire Company for providing coverage through the night.
A special THANK YOU also goes to the Photodog for the pictures! |
