At 08:11 hours on Thursday March 8 the Union Fire Company No.1 was alerted for Rescue 21 to assist the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun on a serious motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Dr. Miller Road and Telegraph Road in the Calvert section of Cecil County.
Rescue 21 made the response and was advised by Chester County Fireboard that reports indicated several subjects trapped with critical injuries. Rescue 21 arrived shortly thereafter and crews were advised by Command 8 to assist with extrication. Crews from both companies utilized a variety of hydraulic tools to extricate 2 patients from their vehicles. Unfortunately the second patient succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
Units returned to the district at 10:19 hours.
