The Union Fire Company No. 1 participated in the services for President Emeritus Willard H. Ayers, who passed away on Saturday August 19th.
The members attended the Viewing on Tuesday evening and rotated through the service as the Honor Guard.
On Wednesday for the Funeral, both Ladder 21 and Cecil County Truck 8 (Rising Sun) were used for a Ladder Arch at the intersection of Market Street and Fourth Street. The remaining apparatus lead the funeral procession from the Methodist Church to the Oxford Cemetary on North Third Street.
The members paid their final respects to President Ayers at the cemetary. He spent many years in our organization and will be sadly missed.
