On August 12th the Union Fire Company No.1's fire prevention team headed over to the Caulter residence to help their son Ayden celebrate his 4th birthday. Upon arrival with the engines lights on and its siren blowing the kids came running. The children at the party got to learn about the clothes a firefighter wears and and why they wear them along with an airpack. The kids were also instructed on what to do if their house catches fire along with other fire safety tips.
From there they toured our newest engine (21-1) where they checked out what was in the compartments and climbed into the crew area, driver and officers seats. Once they had their fill of the engine the children donned safety glasses and got to try out a real fire hose.
When it was time to go, Ayden sat in the officers seat and blew the siren . . . Twice...he liked that part!
The Union Fire Company No.1 wishes Ayden a happy 4th birthday and many more to come!!!
