On Saturday July 22 the Union Fire Company No.1 attended a new building and apparatus housing ceremony at the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company in Unionville. The company was dedicating their new building as well as "housing" four new pieces of apparatus.
Along with the dedication cermony and open house, apparatus from the surrounding area was judged in various categories based on "Best Appearing and Equipped". The day brought periods of heavy rain but that didn't dampen the spirit of the day for a minute. Proud Po-Mar-Lin members got to enjoy the afternoon with their community and fellow firefighters making the day a huge successs.
The crews from Oxford took three First Place trophies in the Ambulance, Engine, and Chief's Vehicle competition.
At the end of the ceremony Engine 21-1 paired up with Engine 44-5 from the Westwood Fire Company to entertain everyone with a ceremonial "Wet Down" of the new firehouse.
Congratulations to the Po-Mar-Lin Fire Company on their beautiful new facility and apparatus!!
