At 1232 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1, the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun (Stations 8,18,28), and the Robert Fulton Fire Company (Station 5-13) were alerted for a reported Barn Fire in 300 block of Freemont Road in West Nottingham Township.
A large of column of smoke could be scene from miles out. Assistant 21, Mark Vining, was the first to arrive report 20'x30' tool shed fully involved.
Tanker 8 was the apparatus to arrive and pulled along the road. The crew deployed one 1.75" handline.
Engine 21-1 arrived and pulled in front of Tanker 8. The crew stretched the 300' 1.75" off of the rear.
The fire was knocked down within minutes.
Command placed the incident under control at 1256 hours. Crews remainded on the scene mopping up and hitting hot spots.
