It is with deep sadness that the Union Fire Company No. 1 announces the passing of our Ladies Auxiliary President, Betty E. Slauch. Betty passed away at home on Sunday February 18th.

Betty joined the Union Fire Company No. 1 in 1977 with a group of ladies who became the first female members in the company's history. Throughout the years, she served on numerous committees, Membership Secretary, Ambulance Division Secretary, and with the Ladies Auxiliary. Betty served as the President of the Ladies Auxiliary from 1981-1982, 1984-1990, and 1993 through 2018. At the 2017 Fire Company Banquet, Betty received her 40 years of service pin.

The Union Fire Company No. 1 cannot thank Betty enough for you years of dedicated and devoted service to the fire company. She will definitely be missed, but never forgotten!
