Serious Accident in West Nottingham

At 1447 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an unknown injuries crash on West Christine Road at the Route 1 overpass in West Nottingham Township.

EMS units arriving on scene found a single vehicle resting against a guard rail and updated incoming units that they had a serious patient suffering a medical emergency that was confined in the vehicle.

Chester County Dispatch upgraded the nature to an Accident - Serious adding Southern Chester County EMS Medic 94-1.

Rescue 21 (Lieutenant Greene) arrived on the scene and began stabilizing the vehicle to remove the patient while EMS provided patient care.

The patient began to destabilize and the decision was made to rapidly remove them from the vehicle. The patient was pulled from the vehicle and handed off to EMS crews.

Ambulance 21-3 transported 1 patient to an area hospital.

The roadway was cleared of debris and the scene was turned over to Pennsylvania State Police.

Fire police controlled traffic at the scene.
