Shed Fire in the Borough

At 1833 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted, along with the West Grove Fire Company (22) and the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, Maryland (8), for a reported Shed on fire in the 500 block of Hodgson Street in the Borough of Oxford.

Engine 21-1 (Lt. Kinsey) arrived first confirming a working fire in a 10' x 10' shed. The crew stretched one 1.75" hand line and attacked the fire.

Chief 21 (Prettyman) arrived and established the "Hodgson Street Command" and with the fire knocked down, held the response to the Oxford units only.

Ladder 21 (FF V. Brown) and Rescue 21 (Past Chief Fowler) arrived with both crews assisting with overhaul.

Engine 21-2 arrived but was quickly released to return to the Peach Bottom emergency Drill being conducted in West Nottingham Township.

The Chester County Fire Marshals Office is investigating the incident.

The final units were clear of the scene at 2040 hours.
