Box 2103

At 2109 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for a reported Animal Rescue in the 600 block of Fifth Street in East Nottingham Township.

Assistant 21 (Meadowcroft) arrived to find a four month old German Shepard-Pitbull mix with it's head stuck in an old dryer vent on the exterior of the house.

Rescue 21 (Lt. Kinsey) arrived and the crew split into interior and exterior teams. Lt. Kinsey took the inside and spent the entire incident at the head of the dog keeping it calm and actually explaining to it what the crews were doing.

Crews worked to open up the walls on both sides using a set of irons and multiple reciprocating saws.

Once freed, "Zeus" joined his twin sister in a joyous reunion.

The 21 units were clear at 2159 hours.
