Engine & Tanker Run Fatal Fire in Cecil County

At 0722 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for Tanker 21 to assist the Singerly Fire Company of Elkton (Station 3) on a working House Fire in the 1800 block Appleton Road in the Cowentown section of Cecil County, Maryland.

Tanker 21 and Engine 21-2 (Assistant Chief Meadowcroft) made the response. Upon arrival, both units were utilized in the Water Supply Operation for the duration of the incident. The Engine crew assisted with fire suppression and overhaul.

Unfortunately, it was later determined that one subject was killed in the fire.

Both units were clear of the incident at 1811 hours.
