Fire Box 2105

At 14:51 hours on Sunday 11/22/15, the Union Fire Company No. 1, along with mutual aid units from West Grove Fire Co (22), Community Fire Co of Rising Sun (Cecil 8/18) and Singerly Fire Co (Cecil 14) were alerted to the 1600 block of Lewisville Rd in Elk Township for the reported house on fire.

Deputy 21 (Obenchain) responded and was advised by Chester County Fire Radio that the caller was reporting the siding of the house on side and the home was being evacuated.

Deputy 21 arrived on scene reporting a 1 story single family home with nothing evident. Upon performing a 360 size up and speaking with the reporting party, a small exterior fire had been discovered by the occupant and controlled with the green line. Deputy 21 reduced the assignment to 21 units.

Engine 21-1 (B. Slauch) and Ladder 21 (Kinsey) arrived on scene, and crews completed suppression and overhauled the structure, removing some siding to ensure that there was no extension into the structure.

During the house fire incident a second call for a brush fire on Dalton Road in Lower Oxford was handled by Brush 21 (Thomas) and Cochranville Engine 27-1.
