MVC with Rescue in Lower Oxford Township

On Friday evening at 17:15 hours, the Union Fire Company #1 and mutual aid EMS units were alerted to Limestone Rd (PA Route 10) between Bell Tower Lane and Whitestone Dr in Lower Oxford Township for a motor vehicle accident with a subject trapped.

Chief 21 (Prettyman) arrived and performed a scene size up, confirming a 2 vehicle accident at Route 10 and Street Rd with one subject trapped by the dash. Chief 21 established "Route 10 command". Ambulance 21-1 arrived on scene and began patient care.

Rescue 21 (Greene) nosed into the incident scene the crew split to began stabilizing the vehicle utilizing Rescue Struts and Cribbing, and formulate a extrication plan and begin extrication. Engine 21-1 (Messaros) arrived and the crew assisted with cribbing and extrication. Crews removed the "B" post, and part of the cargo bulkhead partition, then made a relief cut and prepared for a dash push. At the same time, on the drivers side, crews removed the drivers door and the windshield portion of the "A" post. A heavily damaged section of the rocker panel was then removed, and the dash was pushed with the small ram and completed with the medium telescoping ram. Ambulance 21-2 provided patient care to the patient of the second vehicle.

Ambulance 21-1 & Ambulance 21-2 transported two patients to local trauma centers.

Units cleared the incident scene at 18:55 hrs
