Fire Box 2100

On Saturday morning at 04:46 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted to the 4200 block of Lauren Lane in Oxford Borough for a reported automatic fire alarm. Just prior to response the Chester County Fire Radio re-transmitted the incident as an electrical fire inside providing supplemental information that the police department was on scene with a activated sprinkler system and electrical odor.

Engine 21-1 (Captain Kelley) arrived to find a light smoke condition in a 1st floor, middle apartment unit, with sprinkler activation. The engine crew quickly discovered a small fire in the kitchen on the range top which was extinguished by the fire suppression system.

The crews from Ladder 21 (Charlton) and Utility 21 (Thomas) assisted the engine company in securing the fire suppression system and completing ventilation, which also required forcible entry into the second floor middle apartment unit.

The company cleared the incident by 0545.
