Engine Runs Silo Rescue in Fair Hill

At 0919 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an Engine to transfer to Cecil County Station 13 (Elkton, Maryland).

At 1037 hours, Engine 21-2 (FF McDonnell) with a crew of 4, after a short time at Station 13, was called into the scene in the 300 block of Brick Hill Road in Fair Hill to assist on a Silo Rescue. Crews from Cecil and Harford County, Maryland were in operations to rescue a male subject with his leg caught in an auger inside of a grain bin.

Upon arrival, the Engine was beached into a field to allow access for EMS and other equipment needed. The crew assisted at the scene with running tools and cribbing for the other crews operating inside the grain bin.

Once the Patient was freed, he was loaded into an Elkton Ambulance and transported to the Christiana Hospital in Delaware.

Engine 21-2 was back in Oxford at 1221 hours.
