Residential Structure Fire with Explosion in East Nottingham

On Thursday morning at 08:31 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 and mutual aid units from Rising Sun and West Grove were alerted to the 100 block of Media Road in East Nottingham for a reported house on fire with explosions and a subject trapped.

Union units arrived to find an extensively damaged two story farmhouse with a small fire on the exterior of the home. Engine 21-1 ran a PW can into service to extinguish the fire. Reports of a possible subject trapped proved negative. The incident was quickly scaled back to 21 units on the scene.

Union members remained on scene for several hours with the final units clearing at 11:17.


Cecil Engine 8-1-3 transferred into station 21 quarters to cover the district during the incident.
