Fire Box 2102

At 1:02 PM, the Union Fire Company #1 was alerted for a reported truck fire on the Route 1 Expressway. Originally reported as being southbound, south of Route 10, Engine 21-2 (FF Paxson) arrived confirming the vehicle to be in the northbound lane. Units encountered a pickup truck with a plow fully involved in the engine and passenger compartment.

The engine crew deployed a single 200' 1 3/4" hand line and had the fire under control a short time later. Engine 21-4 (FF Taylor) arrived and assisted with suppression. Traffic was detoured by the Union Fire Company #1 Fire Police and State Police Avondale.
