Early Morning Pin on the Bypass

Rescue Box 2106

At 0900 Hours The Union Fire Company No. 1 along with Medic 94 were dispatched to the Route 1 bypass southbound, north of Route 10 (Limestone Road) for an auto accident reported serious. Chief 21 (Kelley) and Rescue 21 (Cpt. Poole) responded in less than three minutes. Chief 21 arrived and upgraded the assignment to entrapment, one occupant pinned. The crew of Rescue 21 was advised to go into service with a driver side extrication.

With the vehicle stabilized and EMS in care of the patient, the crew of Rescue 21, Squad 21 and Engine 21-1 assisted with the extrication. Engine 21-4 redirected to the Midtown station to cover the area in case of a second emergency. Upon extrication, the patient was transferred into the care of EMS for further evaluation and treatment.
