Fire Box 2105

At 1652 hours, the Chester County Fire Communications alerted the Union Fire Company No. 1 (21), the West Grove Fire Company (12/22/32), the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, MD (8), and the Singerly Fire Company of Elkton, MD (14) for the reported Mobile Home on fire in the 2100 block of Lewisville Road (Route 472) in Elk Township.

Assistant 21 (Terry) arrived with smoke showing from all sides of the residence. The "Lewisville Command" was established and Medic 94 (SCCEMS) was requested for possible entrapment with numerous cars in the driveway and no answer at the doors.

Engine 21-1 (Captain Meadowcroft) arrived and dropped a 5" supply line from the barn, about halfway back the long driveway. The Engine stopped short of the mobile home and the crew stretched one 1.75" hand line. The front door was forced and the crew encountered smoke and fire conditions upon entering.

Ladder 21 (FF Woolston) arrived and pulled into the scene next to Engine 21-1. The crew assisted with a primary search and opening windows on all sides.

Engine 12 picked up the 5" supply line and hooked into Tanker 21 for the primary water supply.

The crews from Rescue 21 (Lt. Greene) and Engine 22 opened the skirting around the mobile home and used an additional 1.75" hand line to extinguish the fire that was spreading underneath the structure.

Additional arriving units sent their crews into the scene.

With the fire under control and all searches proving negative, the incident was scaled back to Oxford and West Grove units while the Chester County Fire Marshals Office investigated the blaze.

Engine 57-2 (Quarryville) and Tanker 51 (Bart Township) transferred to Station 21 during the incident.

The final units were clear of the incident at 1943 hours.
