One Trapped in Elk Township

Rescue Box 2105

At 1627 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 alerted for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) in the block of Lewisville Road (Route 472) in the section of Elk Township. Within moments of the initial dispatch, the Chester County Fire Communications re-alerted Station and dispatched Medic 94 (SCCEMS) as the assignment was upgraded to an MVC with entrapment.

Ambulance 21-2 and Ambulance 21-1 arrived and confirmed one vehicle into a utility pole with one subject trapped inside.

EMS Manager, 21-20 (Sawyers) established the "Lewisville Road Command".

Rescue 21 (FF Charlton) arrived and the crew stabilized the vehicle before utilizing the hydraulic rescue tools to remove the roof and several doors.

Once extricated, the Patient was transported to the Christiana Hospital in Delaware via Ambulance 21-2 and Medic 94-1.

All units were clear of the incident at 1836 hours.
