2014 Open House

By Union Firemen
October 22, 2014

The Union Fire Company No. 1 hosted it's second Open House in conjunction with Fire Prevention. Despite the weather, numerous families took advantage to learn more about their local Fire and EMS services.

The entire building and property, located in the center of town, was used to display all of our equipment and to show off what the members do on a daily basis. The public was able to watch forcible entry demonstrations, look at and climb into all of our apparatus, review historic memorabilia, learn about calling 911, watch a vehicle extrication demo, as well as a car fire demonstration.

Everyone enjoyed the smoke house and the free hot dogs and potato chips.

We hope to continue this event on an annual basis and we look forward to seeing each and every one of you in the future!!!

A special THANK YOU to Peppercorns Catering, Chew's Towing, the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, MD, Herrs Foods, Tami Wiggins for the photos, Holly Trego for the 911 demo, and the Cub Scouts.
