Rescue Box 2111

At 1252 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1, West Grove EMS (12/22/32), and Medic 94 (SCCEMS) were alerted for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision with Entrapment in the 100 block of Bethel Road. Calls to 911 reported one car into a tree with a subject pinned under the dash.

Assistant 21 (Terry) arrived to find a single vehicle crash with two subjects lying on the ground. One person was confirmed to be trapped in the front seat also. The "Bethel Road Command" was established and a third Ambulance was requested.

Ambulance 21-1 arrived and the crew immediately began triaging the patients. It was determined that all three patients would require ALS interventions and Command requested a third Medic Unit.

Rescue 21 (Capt. Meadowcroft) arrived and the crew stabilized the car. The crew then utilized several sets of Hurst spreaders, cutters, and rams to remove the passenger side front door, cut the roof, and roll the dash to free the Patient.

Engine 21-1, Engine 21-4, and Utility 21 arrived and assisted with the extrication.

Ambulance 21-2 (with Medic 94-1), Ambulance 21-1 (with 1-94-1), and Ambulance 22-2 (with Medic 25) all transported one Patient each to the Christiana Hospital in Delaware.

Ambulance 22-2 was re-directed to the Jennersville Regional Hospital to cover both the West Grove and Oxford Medical First Due areas.

The Oxford Fire Police closed Bethel Road between Route 472 and Calvary Road.

Once the fire units were back in service, the scene was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police and Chew's Towing.

All units were clear of the incident in about an hour.
