At 1238 hours, the Cochranville Fire Company was alerted for a reported Tractor Trailer on fire at the intersection of Newark Road (Route 896) and Limestone Road (Route 10) in the Russellville section of Upper Oxford Township.

Chief 27 (Hoopes) arrived within moments and corrected to the location to Route 896 south of Route 10, making it a 21 Box. The Chester County Fireboard then dispatched Station 21.

Assistant 21 (Terry) arrived and confirmed the working fire and established the "Route 896 Command".

Engine 27-2 arrived and the crew stretched an 1.75" foam line and began to attack the fire.

Engine 21-1 (Lieutenant Greene) arrived and supplied Engine 27-2. The crew stretched a second 1.75" hand line. The crew also made entry into the trailer and confirmed no fire extension.

The incident was placed under control shortly after both Engine crews had water on the fire.

Once the fire was completely extinguished and the equipment was cleaned up, the scene was then turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police and Null's Towing.
