Engine and Tanker Run Avondale Barn Fire |

Fire Box 2305 At 1838 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an Engine and Tanker to assist the Avondale Fire Company (Station 23) on a multi-alarm Barn Fire in the 300 block of Newark Road in New Garden Township. Tanker 21 (Chief Kelley) and Engine 21-2 (Lieutenant Greene) responded within minutes of the dispatch. Upon arrival, Tanker 21 and Engine 21-2 were setup in the Nurse Tanker Operations with other arriving Tankers dumping their water into Tanker 21. Crews went into the scene and assisted with various assignments. Engine 57-2 (Quarryville) and Tanker 8 (Rising Sun, MD) transferred to Station 21. The final Oxford units were clear of the incident at 2200 hours. |
