Serious Crash in East Nottingham

Rescue Box 2112

At 0941 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) at the intersection of Oxford Road and Frog Hollow Road in East Nottingham Township.

Within seconds, the Chester County Fire Communications upgraded the box with a report of a subject trapped. This upgrade added the West Grove Fire Company (12/22/32) for an Ambulance and Medic 94 (SCCEMS).

Assistant 21 (Terry) arrived to find a two vehicle crash in the intersection with no entrapment and established the "Oxford Road Command".

Ambulance 21-2 arrived and after a quick triage, reported to command a total of four patients.

Command advised that all three responding ALS units would be utilized and that a fourth Ambulance was needed. Ambulance 24-1 (Kennett Square) responded from the Jennersville Regional Hospital.

Rescue 21 (Lieutenant Greene) and Squad 21 (Captain Meadowcroft) arrived simultaneously and the crews assisted the EMS crews with patient packaging and hazard control.

Ambulance 21-2 transported one Patient, ALS, to the AI DuPont Hospital in Delaware.

Ambulance 21-3 and Ambulance 22-2 transported one Patient each, both ALS, to the Christiana Hospital in Delaware.

Ambulance 24-1 obtained a Patient Refusal.

The scene was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police and all units, including Ambulance 24-1, cleared the scene and responded back to the Oxford Borough for a reported odor of gas inside a building. That incident was determined false and turned over to UGI.

All units were clear at 1019 hours.
