One Extricated in Lower Oxford

At 0633 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 alerted for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision in the 200 block of Scroggy Road in Lower Oxford Township. One minute later, the Chester County Fire Communications re-alerted Station 21 and added Medic 94 (SCCEMS) and Ambulance 22-2 (West Grove) while upgrading the response to an MVC with a subject trapped.

Ambulance 21-2 arrived and confirmed a two vehicle crash blocking the entire road.

Assistant 21 (Terry) arrived, confirmed one subject trapped via the EMS crew, and established the "Scroggy Road Command."

Deputy 21 (Prettyman) arrived and took the Operations role.

Ambulance 21-1 arrived and assisted with Patient Care.

Rescue 21 (Past Chief Obenchain) nosed into the scene. The Crew began stabilizing the vehicle and running tools into the scene.

Engine 21-1 (Captain Meadowcroft) arrived and assisted with the extrication.

Crews utilized the Hurst hydraulic tools to remove the driver's door, the roof, and roll the front dash. Once the tool work was completed, the crews were able to remove the subject from the car.

Ambulance 21-2, with Medic 194-1, transported one Patient to the Christiana Hospital in Delaware.

Ambulance 21-1, with Medic 94-1, transported one Patient to the Lancaster General Hospital.

The scene was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police and the final units were clear of the incident at 0916 hours.
