On Monday evening after clearing a first due apartment building fire in Oxford Borough, the members of the Union Fire Company No. 1 loaded back onto the apparatus and gathered at a local draft site in Nottingham located in the area of The Herr's Snack Factory. The company continued training on the new ladder truck that was placed in service last week. Engine 21-2 drafted from the local fill site to obtain various measurements while utilizing different sized tips on the nozzle of the aerial.

The training was also a helpful way for members to review drafting operations and set-up. Drafting is an operation that various departments will utilize in areas where hydrants are scarce but other water sources are available; such as ponds, lakes or even residential pools.
