At 19:41 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an Auto Accident in the 2300 Block of Baltimore Pike, in the Barnsley section of East Nottingham Township.

Responding units were advised of a two vehicle accident with injuries. As Ambulance 21-1 and 21-2 went enroute, they were advised by Hoseman Groseclose on the scene that there was one subject trapped and that a door removal would be needed. Both ambulances arrived simultaneously and positioned next to each vehicle. Medic 94 was then added to the assignment.

Rescue 21 arrived and nosed into the vehicle that required patient extrication. The crew deployed the Hurst Cutters and Spreaders from the front bumper and cribbed the vehicle as Lieutenant 21B (Slauch) established Baltimore Pike Command. A second set of Cutters and Spreaders were then brought over to assist with removal of the "B Post."

A "Double Door Removal" was performed to remove the driver of the car. Once this was complete, the patient was turned over to EMS providers for transport.

The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to a local hospital.

All 21 Units were clear of the scene with in an hour.
