At 1553 hours, the West Grove Fire Company (12/22/32) and the Union Fire Company No. 1 were alerted for a reported House on fire in the 300 block of Independence Circle in the Colonial Meadows section of Franklin Township.

With the Chester County Fire Communications reporting multiple calls reporting the fire, Deputy 22 (Wood) requested the Working Fire Dispatch adding Medic 94 (SCCEMS), an Engine from Avondale (23), and the Rescue from Cochranville (27). After an additional report, the first alarm of the Tanker Task Force was requested.

Assistant 22 (Felker) arrived to find a 2-story house with fire throughout the interior and announced that a "Defensive Attack" with exterior operations would be taking place. He established the "Independence Command".

Engine 12 arrived and pulled in front of the incident with the crew deploying several lines to attack the fire.

Engine 21-1 (Lt. Slauch) arrived and took a neighbor's driveway. The crew stretched the 2.5" Blitz Line and the 300' 1.75" line and began attacking the fire on the "Bravo" side.

Engine 21-2 (Asst. Chief Prettyman) and Tanker 21 established the Water Supply and Tanker Dump Site inside the development a block away from the scene. Deputy 21 (Kelley) assumed the "Water Supply" Officer role.

Additional arriving apparatus that were not assisting with the water supply operations staged and sent their crews into the scene. While Tankers shuttled water for the duration of the incident.

The final 21 units were clear of the scene at 2017 hours.

*** A special THANK YOU to Engine 5-13-1 (Robert Fulton) and Tanker 5-7 (Quarryville) for covering the "21 House" during the incident. They ran one MVC while on the fill-in assignment. ***
