Station 8 Box Alarm

At 04:18 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for Tanker 21 to assist the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun on a Working House Fire in the 2100 block of Colora Road in Cecil County, MD.

Tanker 21 and Engine 21-2 made the response and were instructed to stage along the roadway and send manpower to the scene. Both the Engine and Tanker were used in the water supply operation.

Engine 7 was the first arriving piece of fire apparatus, with the crew placing three handlines in service to combat the fully involved house. Truck 8 was later used for ladder pipe operations, with other Engines and Tankers joining the water shuttle.

The crew of Engine 21-2 worked briefly on the A/B corner of the structure, before moving to the deck area on Side D. Once in position, the crew utilized hooks and operated a handline to extinguish the stubborn fire that continued to burn under the eaves of the roof.

The 21 Units were on scene for almost three hours before being released by Command 8 (Asst Chief 8). The Engine and Tanker were available just before 8AM.

**Special thanks to the Bart Twp Fire Company (Tanker 5-1-1) for handling the fill-in assignment at Station 21.
