Brush Fire in Upper Oxford |

Around 1300 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted to the 300 block of Catamount road in Upper Oxford Township for a reported brush fire. Brush 21 (FF Witiak) arrived and reported a large brush fire in a cut field and began a "pump and roll" operation to extinguish the rapidly spreading fire. Squad 21 (Captain Kern) arrived and assisted with fire suppression as well as supplied water to Brush 21. Additional UFC units arrived and assisted Brush 21 with a complete wet down of the involved area. Approximately 1 acre of cut hay was involved. All units were clear around 1400 hours. Captain 21-B (Kern) held the Catamount road command. No injuries were reported at this incident. |
