This afternoon, several officers and members traveled to the Chester County Public Safety Training Center in South Coatesville for the graduation of 5 members from the Octorara Homeland Security and Protective Services Academy.

These 5 members are now certified interior firefighters.

The Octorara Homeland Security and Protective Services Academy is a 3-year program for students in high school grades 10-12. Over 3 years, students are eligible to receive 92 industry certifications, including National Registry Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighter 1 (interior firefighter).
