At 1500 Hours, while Engine 21-1 was handling a separate incident in Lower Oxford, the company was alerted for a Engine and Tanker to respond to Reath Road, to assist the Robert Fulton Fire Company (Station 89) on a reported building fire in Little Britain Township, Lancaster County. Engine 21-1 (FF Kern) immediately responded with 5 personnel. Engine 21-1 arrived on-site as the First Due Engine and laid out a 5" supply line from the end of the driveway. Engine 21-1 crew stretched a 200' 1.75" attack line and began fire suppression activities. The crew was met with a large volume of fire on the interior. Due to advanced fire conditions throughout the roofline making interior fire attack unsafe, Command 89 ordered all crews to evacuate the structure. All crews worked on-site for over 3 hours, utilizing multiple handlines and performing extensive overhaul of the structure. Thank you to the Pequea Valley Fire Department Tanker 405, and Cochranville Fire Company Tanker 27, for covering our district while we operated at this incident. Tanker 405 handled a auto accident on the Route 1 Bypass while at Station 21. |
