Shortly prior to 5:00PM, The Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted to a commercial property in the 300 block of Reedville Road, In Lower Oxford Township, for a report of a piece of machinery on fire.

Engine 21-1 (Captain Kane), Engine 21-2 (Captain Bennett), Tanker 21 ( FF J. Obenchain), and Brush 21 (FF Woolston), Responded just after dispatch.

Engine 21-1 arrived on-site and reported a large conveyer style machine to be fully ingulfed in flames.
Engine 21-1 deployed a 5 inch supply hose from Reedville Road, into the property.

Due to a large amount of fire directly behind a large building, the incident was upgraded to a Building fire response, adding additional units from Southern Chester and Cecil Counties.

Engine 21-1's crew members deployed a 200' fire attack line and quickly stopped the fire from spreading further.
Engine 21-1's Officer determined the fire had not extended into the structure and was contained to the area of the machinery. The response assignment was then reduced back to the Union units.

Tanker 21 arrived and connected to the 5" supply line that was deployed at the end of the driveway, Supplying Engine 21-1 with additional water.

The fire was quickly extinguished and units began overhaul of the area to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.

Our crews operated on-site for approximately 1 hour. Approximately 3500 gallons of water was utilized to extinguish the fire.
Deputy 21 (Meadowcroft) held the command. No injuries were reported at this incident.
