On Friday evening, members of the Union Fire Company No.1 participated in "The Weekly Fight" at CrossFit Thunder Hill in Oxford. It was a great evening for our members to focus on their physical fitness.

The Weekly Fight was created to help promote healthy lifestyle through Camaraderie, Mission and Purpose. It is determined to improve Veteran and First Responder mental health by teaching them how to transition and turn Post Traumatic Stress into Post Traumatic Growth.

With their partners, The Weekly Fight provides free workouts to Veterans, First Responders and their Family Members. They stress the family unit and partner relationships, because Post Traumatic Stress not only effects the Veteran/First Responder, but the family as well. At these weekly workouts they dedicate the WOD to a Veteran. Sometimes it is a local Veteran that can come in and share their experience, while other times it is a Veteran that has gained national or local attention. This is done to help break the stigma and show the contributions Veterans and First Responders are making to their communities.

The Union Fire Company No.1 would like to thank everyone who helped out this evening to benefit our members.
