At 1240 hrs the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for two engines and the tanker to assist Lancaster County Station 57 (Quarryville) on a Barn fire in Colerain Township. Tanker 21 (FF Obenchain), Engine 21-2 (Captain Slauch) and Engine 21-4 (Lt. Testa) made the response with a total of 9 personnel. While the 21 units were responding, the first arriving units from Station 57 reported a 60’x50’ dairy barn fully involved with exposure to a dwelling. Shortly after, Command 57 requested the 2nd alarm assignment to be transmitted which added Ladder 21. Ladder 21 made the response and staged on White Rock Road on arrival. Engine 21-4 was diverted to set up a fill site at the boat ramp on Spruce Grove Road. Engine 21-2 operated at the fire scene along with Tanker 21 and multiple other tankers supplying water to the scene. Shortly after the incident was placed under control Ladder 21 went available. With Engine 21-2, Engine 21-4, and Tanker 21 clearing shortly thereafter.

We would like to thank Engine 33-5 (Honey Brook Fire Company No.1) as well as Engine 37-2 (Modena Fire Company) who transferred into Station 21 for the duration of the incident. While on standby at the 21 House the covering units handled a cardiac arrest and a chimney fire.
