Just before 5pm on Friday afternoon, the Union Fire Company No. 1, along with units from Cecil County Station 8, the West Grove Fire Company and the Cochranville Fire Company were dispatched to the 100 Block of Barnsley Rd in East Nottingham Township for the House Fire.

Engine 21-1 responded immediately from another call in the district. EMS 21-20 (Vinnacombe) arrived on scene first, reporting spoke showing from the basement. With this report. Engine 1's officer (Lt Kane) requested the Working Fire Dispatch, which added Medic 94 and the Fire Marshalls. Upon arrival, the Engine crew stretched a handline to the Bilco doors and made access to the basement, where they were met with smoke and fire conditions from the fire burning across the beams in the ceiling.

Rescue 21 (Lt Slauch) arrived and took the assignment of First Due Special, with multiple crews putting ladders up to all sides of the structure. A supply line was also laid from a nearby hydrant.

Cecil Truck 8 and Engine 812 arrived, with their crews going to the second floor to check for extension in the Ballon Frame construction home. Finding high heat and smoke, the crews began opening up the walls to check for additional extension.

Engine 21-2 (FF Groseclose) arrived, with the crew pulling a 2nd handline and advancing it to the second floor to work with the crews from Station 8.

Additional crews from West Grove worked on the first floor and assisted with overhaul as Cochranville's crew set up as the Rapid Intervention Team

EMS Captain Decker held the Barnsley Command.

Fire Police had Barnsley Rd closed around the fire for the duration of the incident, with all units clear of the scene by 7pm.
