Fire Prevention Month

By Union Watch Desk
October 7, 2021

This morning, members of the Union Fire Company No. 1 visited Weaver Day School for the first fire prevention of the fall.

Each year, October is recognized as Fire Prevention Month, where local youth get the opportunity to meet firefighters and talk about Fire Safety.

Topics covered include having working smoke alarms in the home, "When Fire Strikes, get out and stay out," knowing how to call 911 and closing bedroom doors when you go to bed at night.

In station tours are not an option this year due to Covid protocols, but other organizations will be visited in the coming weeks by our members.

Everyone stay safe.
