Chimney Fire with Extension in West Nottingham

Just before 19:30 hours on Sunday evening, the Union Fire Company No. 1, the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun (MD), Lancaster Tanker 89 and Rescue 27 for the RIT were alerted to the 100 Block of Willow Rd in West Nottingham Twp for the House Fire.

Responding units were advised of a Chimney Fire that was spreading, with the occupants evacuating.

Lancaster Chief 89, who had just cleared another assignment in Little Britain, arrived first, reporting smoke showing from the front corner of the house.

Cecil Engine 813, Tanker 89 and Engine 21-4 arrived shortly thereafter, with crews stretching an 1 3/4 handline to the second floor and opening up the walls and ceiling around the area of the chimney.

Additional apparatus staged on both Willow Rd and Freemont Rd, as crews made their way to the scene to assist with the operations.

Deputy 21 held the command for the incident, with all units returning safely to quarters in the midst of the snow.
