During the sweltering evening of Monday, August 19th, numerous members of the Union Fire Co No. 1 of Oxford, Pa braved the heat to train on vehicle stabilization.

A review of the need for stabilization at various incidents, methodology, equipment and safety was held in the AC before venturing outside to work on practical evolutions.

Crews worked with various equipment to practice “same side opposing forces” stabilization of a vehicle on it’s side using a picket system. Various methods of setting up picket systems, and their limitations where discussed and practice.
