I have to commend you on the house fire, in town, on Thanksgiving. We heard the call on the scanner at my Mother-in-Laws house and off went my Brothers-in-law, George LeFevre, Mike Shaub, and my sister-in-law Jodi LeFevre. I followed with my 2 kids. I have never seen a working dwelling fire before. I have to say that I had respect for ALL firefighters before, but now I feel that ALL Fire Fighters need to be put on a pedistal! I was amazed at the team work and the focus and the intense hard work that goes into putting out a fire. I honestly, thought that you put water on it and poof its out! Boy, was I wrong.. You guys rock. If anything ever happens to us, (little prayer, it doesn't) I know that you guys/gals will be there to help us! Thanks for all your heroic actions everyday. Take care, God Bless, and Stay Safe!

I'm a former Quarryville VFC member, I am a paid firefighter down here in Hampton, VA. I found your website while looking at QFC's web site. Very well put together, lots of good fire pix. Hope to see more. I can remember the days as a young volunteer (1975 and up to 82 when I moved to VA) going to Oxford on big fires and stand-by's. Good memories. Keep up the great work. Keith

It was only recently that my mother told me the full story of how I was born. AS it turns out both of us would have most certainly died if it hadn't been for the skill and heroic acts of the EMS team that came to the call. I was born prematurely (placenta previa) and my mom was bleeding to death. Somehow or another the EMS team kept giving her enough of a transfusion so that she made it to the ER and lived. She told me that if I ever got the chance I should go down to the firestation and thank Brenda for saving our lives because that is the name she most remembers. I'm still up here in allentown studying conservation and microbiology otherwise I'd go and try to find her now (I'm not sure if she even still works there since it was almost 20 years ago). However, if anyone there knows a Brenda could you please send her this note of thanks and my email address? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you everyone for the work that you do so well.

REMEMBER: A MAN IS NOT A HERO FOR WHAT HE DOES, BUT FOR WHAT HE MIGHT HAVE TO DO...
I am a great grandmother, your neighbor in Rising Sun, Md. and I would like to comment on your "well-done website". Oxford Fireman's Carnival, and the
Oxford Fire Company Band (going back to the mid to late 1930's) was an important part of my life growing up. I particularly remember Ef. Anderson, the leader, and a drummer named "Clarky". My father, Morton McCardell, played the saxiphone. He had a good friend named Brown. Could someone do a history of the band or tell me where I might find it. I would also LOVE to see some photographs of the band. Does anyone remember the Sunday Night Concerts on the Firehouse Lawn??
