At 1405 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1, the West Grove Fire Company (12/22), and Engine 27-5 (Cochranville) were alerted for a reported house on fire in the 100 block of Hall Road in the Lincoln University section of Lower Oxford Township.
Chief 21 (Terry) arrived to confirm the working fire in a ranch style residence. The Working Fire Dispatch was requested which brought Lancaster County Engine 5-1-1 (Bart Township), Cecil County Rescue 8 (Rising Sun, MD), and Medic 94 (SCCEMS). The "Hall Road Command" was established. Captain 21 (Prettyman) assumed the Operations role.
Engine 21-1 (Lt. Paxson) arrived and stopped short of the scene. The crew deployed one 1.75" handline to the front door on side A. Once inside, the crew faced thick smoke and heat. They began attacking the fire.
Ladder arrived and backed into a neighboring driveway. The crew assisted on the interior with searches.
Tanker 21 arrived and pulled in front of Engine 21-1. They were hooked together and began the water supply operations.
Additional arriving units staged along Hall Road and sent their crews into the scene.
Rescue 27, Engine 27-1, Engine 5-1-1 teamed together to form the Rapid Intervention Team. They assisted with throwing ground ladders to sides B and C.
The fire was placed under control and Command began releasing units.
The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the incident.
The final units cleared the scene at 1739 hours.
Lancaster County Engine 5-7-2 (Quarryville) and Tanker 5-13 (Robert Fulton) transferred to Station 21 during the incident.
