Company Inks Deal for New Rescue

The Union Fire Company No. 1 is proud to announce the ordering of the new Rescue 21. The committee, along with President Prettyman, met with Curt "Hen" Woerth from Glick Fire Equipment and signed the contract for a 2010 Pierce Velocity Mega PUC.

The committee was appointed about a year ago and has worked diligently to determine the current and future needs for the Rescue. The committee members on this projected where Chairperson/Deputy Chief Chris Obenchain, Assistant Chief Brian Kelley, Chief Engineer Bill Goodley, Captain Bob Prettyman, and Lieutenant Greg Paxson.

The new Rescue 21 will be comprised of the following:

- Pierce Velocity 6-man Cab with 10" Raised Roof
- Tak-4 Independent Front Suspension
- Detroit Series 60 14.0L 515hp 1650 Torque Engine with Jacobs Brake
- Alco Aluminum Wheels
- OnSpot Tire Chains
- Side Roll Protection Package
- Frontal Impact Protection Package
- Air Conditioning
- Interior EMS Compartments
- Hands Free SCBA Brackets
- PUC Mega Rescue Pumper Body
- 500 Gallon Water Tank
- Pierce 1500 gpm Pump
- Stainless Steel Plumbing
- Two (2) 1-3/4" Crosslays
- Whelen LED Warning Light Package
- Federal Q2B Mechanical Siren
- Powercall Electronic Siren
- 750-Watt Visor Light
- Five (5) Recessed 750-Watt Lights
- Will-Burt 5400-Watt Night Scan Light Tower
- 30KW Harrison Hydraulic Generator
- Two (2) Cords Reel with 200' Electric Cable with Junction Box

The Rescue 21 is expected to be completed by late Summer of next year.
