Fire Box 822

At hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an Engine and Tanker to assist the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun (8) on a reported house on fire on Frog Hollow Lane in Cecil County, Maryland.

Arriving units were unable to access the scene due to a washed out bridge at the end of a long driveway to the residence. After several minutes of investigating access, crews were able to utilize a long driveway off of McCoury Road on the Pennsylvania side of the state line. Command 8 arrived to find fire showing from a "A" framed residents with all occupants out of the house.

Engine 28 was the first arrive unit in the driveway and made it's way as far as possible before reaching a walking bridge. The crew then stretched several hundred feet of 2.5" hose through the woods and gating it down to two 1.75" handlines.

Tanker 21 (Past Chief S. Terry) and Engine/Tanker 414 (North East) shuttled multiple loads of water throughout the incident. Assistant 21 (Poole) and Engine 21-2 (Lt. Kelley) assisted at the scene with fire attack and overhaul.

The final units were clear of the incident at 1530 hours.
