One Trapped on Scroggy Road |

Rescue Box 2111 At 1544 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision in the 600 block of Scroggy Road in Lower Oxford Township. Within moments of the dispatch, Firefighter Vince Brown arrived to find a single vehicle into a tree with one occupant trapped inside. This report upgraded the assignment and added Medic 94 (SCCEMS) and Ambulance 22-1 (West Grove). Chief 21 (Meadowcroft) arrived, confirming one subject trapped and one subject laying in the road, and established the "Scroggy Road Command". Rescue 21 (Captain Kinsey) arrived. The crew split with half stabilizing the vehicle and the others preparing the hydraulic rescue tools. Engine 21-1 (FF Taylor) and Squad 21 (FF Adams) arrived with their crews assisting with the extrication. Crews worked to remove the passenger side door and a front dash roll to free to the trapped occupant. All three responding Ambulances transported patients to the Lancaster General Hospital. The final units were clear of this incident at 1806 hours. |
