At 1710 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1, along with the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, Maryland (8), the West Grove Fire Company (22), and the Cochranville Fire Company (27), was alerted for a reported Mobile Home on fire in the 2500 block of Forge Road in the Shadyside section of East Nottingham Township. Calls to 911 reported a fire under the residence.

Chief 21 (Meadowcroft) arrived reporting fire showing and established the "Forge Road Command".

Engine 21-4 (FF Messaros) arrived and pulled passed the scene. The crew stretched an 1.75" hand line to the front door. They made entry and encountered heavy smoke conditions.

Engine 21-1 (Capt. Kinsey) pulled behind Engine 4 and the crew deployed a second 1.75" hand line to the front door and assisted inside with the fire attack.

Ladder 21 (Lt. Kelley) nosed into the scene and provided lighting. The crew through ground ladders and performed a primary search. The Ladder driver hand dragged a 5" supply line from Engine 21-1 to the intersection of Baltimore Pike for Tanker 21. Tanker 8 and Tanker 22 also supplied the scene.

Additional arriving units staged in the parking lot of the used car dealership across the street. Crews entered the Manpower Pool before being tasked with overhaul and additional assignments around the scene. A third hand line was stretched to the rear to extinguish all of the fire underneath the mobile home.

The incident was placed under control and Engine 22-1 was sent from the scene to Station 21 to cover the District.

The final units were clear of the scene at 2004 hours.
