Since 1982, the Midshipmen of the "13th Company" have run the game ball from Bancroft Hall in Annapolis, Maryland to the playing field. Originating in a desire to get the “unlucky” company off the yard, the Army-Navy ball run has evolved into a highly spirited event, demonstrating pride and enthusiasm of the entire Brigade of Midshipmen as well as their excitement and support for the Army-Navy football tradition. This year, the Mids left Bancroft Hall at 7am on Friday, December 8th and will deliver the ball to Lincoln Financial Field on December 9th just before the game.

This year marks the 28th year that the Union Fire Company No. 1 has hosted the United States Naval Academy overnight as the ball is ran through the southeast corner of Pennsylvania. Crews were rotated throughout the night during the 10 miles of each of the 13 legs of the run. While being housed at the "21 House", the Midshipmen were greeted by the members and enjoyed fellowship throughout the firehouse, chatting, playing games, watching movies, and enjoying a delicious catered meal from Mission BBQ.

The Union Fire Company No. 1 looks forward to continuing this tradition with the Navy in the years ahead. It is certainly a great honor to be apart of this annual event.

"GO NAVY - BEAT ARMY!!!"
