Barn Fire in Solanco

At 0537 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for Tanker 21 to assist the Robert Fulton Fire Company (89) for a reported Barn on fire in the 1700 block of Cherry Hill Road in the Fairfield section of Fulton Township, Lancaster County.

Chief 89 arrived to find a large barn fully involved with exposures to other structures.

At 0552, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an Engine to respond to the scene for manpower.

Tanker 21 and Engine 21-2 arrived and set up at the end of the driveway for Water Supply. Tanker 21 dropped both folding tanks along the roadway while Engine 21-2 established a draft from both tanks and supplied the scene for the duration of the incident.

Tanker 21 then shuttle approximately 25,000 gallons of water over the next several hours, along with multiple other arriving Tankers.

Both units were back in station and clear of the incident at 1128 hours.
