Twin on Fire in Oxford Borough

On Sunday morning the Chester County Fire Communications Office alerted Station 21 and mutual aid companies to the 200 Block of Penn Avenue in Oxford Borough for the house on Fire.

Assistant 21 marked up after dispatch and received the report of fire on the 2nd floor. Assistant 21 requested the "Working Fire Dispatch" transmitted to bring additional automatic mutual aid units to the incident scene. Assistant 21 arrived to report a three story twin with fire showing on the 2nd floor.

Engine 21-1 (Delestienne) arrived within 6 minutes of dispatch, laid out, and ran an attack line into service to extinguish fire on two floors.

Engine 21-2 (Charlton) arrived and completed the sustained water supply and reported into the fire scene.

Ladder 21 (Messaros) Positioned on side A of the structure and deployed portable ladders into service on the fire building.

Rescue 21 (Brantner) arrived and assisted the truck crew with portable ladder deployment.

Engine 22-1 (Danny O) assumed the 3rd due Engine assignment, securing an additional hydrant on Penn and reported to the exposure unit to find fire conditions on the third floor.

Rescue 27 and Lancaster Rescue 57 operated as the rapid intervention teams on site.

The fire was placed under control at 10:46 with all units working.

Members from all companies operated for several hours completing savage and overhaul operations in the large 3 story structure.

The incident was scaled back to Station 21 and Cochranville units as work was completed.

The incident was marked complete at 15:32 hours.

Assistant 21 held the "Penn Avenue Command" for this incident.

Thanks to Christiana Engine 52-1 and Avondale Tanker 23 for transferring to Station 21 to cover the district while we were out. Engine 52-1 ran one additional call for service to investigate an outside smoke condition on Reedville Road.
